Nash County will be hosting an N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Pesticide Disposal Day on Thursday, September 26 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Nash County Agricultural Center parking lot. The pesticide disposal day is FREE to all farmers, homeowners, and landscapers.
If you have pesticides in containers larger than 5 gallons (such as a mini-bulk container) or unlabeled products, please contact the Pesticide Disposal Assistance Program (PDAP) directly, at 919.733.9556 – Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., before bringing them to this Pesticide Disposal Day.

Items not accepted at the Pesticide Disposal Day are:
- Non-Pesticide Household Materials (i.e., Paints, Oil, Gas, Explosives, Prescription Drugs)
- Cylinders – Hard Metal Casing
- Mini Bulks

This program was created as a stewardship program to provide a much-needed consumer service to the citizens of North Carolina. According to an EPA publication specifically on Pesticide Disposal/Clean Sweep Programs, 33 additional States began permanent Pesticide Collection programs with 13 others working towards establishing permanent programs in their states. The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is proud to have been a national leader in establishing this highly regarded, ground-breaking, consumer services program for the entire Agricultural community, and continues to proudly serve all citizens of North Carolina.
