Disaster Preparedness Workshop
South Rocky Mount
Tuesday, August 20, 2019
It is important to plan for emergencies and weather-related disasters before they happen. Three of the easiest things a family can do is create a simple emergency plan, along with an emergency kit, and a family emergency contact plan. Families need to plan how they will contact each other during an emergency and where they will go if separated.
An emergency kit is important when it comes to preparing for possible weather-related disasters. Many people already have items in their home that can help make starting an emergency kit easy! Other items are low cost and can be collected over a period of time to fit into your budget.
Join Traci Dixon, Community and Rural Development Agent on Tuesday, August 20, at 6 p.m. at the South Rocky Mount Community Center. The community center is located at 719 Recreation Drive. Come learn simple and inexpensive tips for helping your family be prepared for weather-related disasters.
