Bale grazing is a strategic winter feeding method that involves placing hay bales in a grid pattern to reduce labor, machinery costs, and manure handling while boosting soil fertility through concentrated nutrient distribution. By setting up these grids beforehand and using temporary electric fences to provide two to three days of access at a time, farmers can allow cattle to self-feed and add organic matter back into the soil.
