Beef Quality Assurance is a program that provides information to U.S. beef producers of how good husbandry techniques can be coupled with accepted scientific knowledge to raise cattle under optimum management conditions. BQA programs have evolved to include best practices around cattle handling, facility management, cattle transportation, good record keeping and protecting herd health, which all result in better outcomes for cattle and producers.
Livestock agents from Nash and Wilson counties will host a training on Saturday, February 7th at the East Carolina Ag & Education Center in Rocky Mount.This event is open to all ages.
Training will include classroom instruction as well as chute side activities.
BQA Certification test will be administered at the end of the training.
Fees vary and will be collected on site (PLEASE BRING A CHECK).
BQA class registration is $5 per participant.
BQA Certification fee for NC Cattlemen's Assn. members = additional $15
BQA Certification fee for non-members = additional $40
Students = additional $15 which includes a one-year membership to NC Cattlemen’s Assn.
