4-H Public Speaking and Presentations Program gives youth the opportunity to build confidence and communication skills by preparing and delivering 5–12 minute speeches or demonstrations with support from caring volunteers and 4-H Youth Development staff.
Through participation, youth develop valuable life skills such as critical thinking, organization, research, and goal setting. Studies from North Carolina State University show that public speaking also improves academic performance, strengthens listening skills, and helps young people gain the confidence to share their ideas and make a positive impact.
4-H empowers youth to overcome fears, grow as leaders, and prepare for future success. The skills gained through public speaking carry into school, careers, and everyday life.
Join us for an interest meeting and go over topics and options to tailor your child's interests and passion. We will go over the practice schedule and have your child building confidence in a short period of time.
