2024 CRD Community Champion Award

Congratulation to Barbara Wright from the Winwood Community. She was awarded the 2024 CRD Community Champion Award for her outstanding service in September at the Community and Rural Development (CRD) Council's Annual Banquet. Over the years, the CRD Council have recognized some of our community leaders who have demonstrated outstanding community leadership and achievement for their community, and Nash County as a whole.

Barbara Wright has been of service to both her community and the CRD Council for many years. She has served as Vice-Chair of the Nashville Precinct for over 10 years, assisting and serving at local polling places. With her experience as a retired detective from the Rocky Mount Police Department, she has been able to share her skills and vital in helping keep those in her community safe.

Whenever her community president, George Jefferies asks for help, she’s there with a spirit of service. For this, Barbara Wright, of

the Winwood Community, is the recipient of the  2024 CRD Community Champion Award.
