The days are getting longer and the temperature is rising and gardens are being planted. Now is the time to begin thinking about how you are going to preserve the abundance of produce you will have this season.
Nash County Cooperative Extension Family & Consumer Sciences department will be hosting several workshops teaching participants how to properly and safely preserve their food.
We will have daytime and evening workshops on waterbath canning demonstrating how to make jam, fermentation demonstrating how to make sauer kraut, and pressure canning demonstrating how to preserve string beans.
Registration will open for each event one month prior to the event date and registration will be handled through Eventbrite. Each class will have a $15 per person registration fee and space is limited in the classes. Please see below for the preservation workshops schedule and save the dates on your calendar now. All classes will be held at the Nash Ag Center in the FCS kitchen.
