Description: Enhancing the Farm Working Community

The objective of this program is to build and strengthen relationships between farmworkers, farmers, farm labor contractors (FLC), and their families, and the community in order to enhance the well-being of the farm working community.

What does this program do?
Provide health and safety training on pesticide safety, heat stress prevention, Green Tobacco Sickness via on-farm and community events training.
  • Serve as a resource to growers as they work to provide a healthy work environment on their farm. 
  • Promote the development of a stakeholder’s network to identify educational needs and opportunities for farmworkers and their families 
  • Connect farmworkers and their families with Extension resources such as youth development, nutrition and food safety programs as well as with other community resources. 
  • Serve as a resource to farmworkers' employers to meet EPA Workers Protection Standard and the U.S. Tobacco Good Agriculture Practices Program farmworkers training requirements.
