8:30 a.m.: Bloom & Buzz | Transforming Turf into Pollinator Havens, Felder Rushing

Mr. Rushing will speak on the concept of pollinator lawns—traditional turfgrass mixed with low-growing, flowering plants that support bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. Attendees will learn how pollinator lawns provide ecological benefits, reduce maintenance, and contribute to healthier landscapes. Participants will learn insect identification and differentiation between beneficial non-beneficial insects. Practical tips on plant selection, establishment, and care will be shared to help participants create beautiful, functional spaces that sustain pollinators. Proper IPM methods regarding control and chemical application within this niche ecosystem will be discussed.

9:30 a.m.: Troubleshooting Troubled Turf, Lee Butler

Mr. Butler’s presentation will help identify common problems that affect turf health and appearance. Participants will learn how to diagnose and treat issues related to soil, water, nutrients, and disease, as well as effective strategies for restoring and maintaining healthy turfgrass. Attendees will learn effective fungicide treatment strategies to help mitigate disease issues.

11:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.: Making Waves | Tackling Aquatic Weeds, Steve Hoyle

Mr. Hoyle’s presentation will provide an overview of common aquatic weeds and the challenges they pose in ponds, lakes, and other water bodies. Participants will learn how to identify invasive versus beneficial plants, understand the impacts of unchecked growth, and explore management options ranging from cultural practices to mechanical, biological, and chemical controls for healthier aquatic systems.

1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Tiny Threat, Big Damage | Uncovering Turfgrass Pests, Dr. Terri Billeisen

Dr. Billeisen’s presentation will focus on insects to hidden pests as turfgrass faces many challenges that can go unnoticed until damage is severe. This presentation explores common turf pests, how to spot their signs, and integrated management practices to keep lawns thriving. A focus on being able to properly identify and manage target pests with proper chemical applications.

2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Plants with a Purpose | Harnessing the Power of Natives, Felder Rushing

Mr. Rushing’s second presentation will discuss native plants and how they are uniquely adapted to local climates and ecosystems, making them an excellent choice for sustainable landscapes. This presentation highlights the ecological importance of native species, including their role in supporting pollinators, wildlife, and soil health. IPM strategies (focusing on what products to use and application methods within this ecosystem will be discussed) within the native ecosystem will be presented. Participants will gain insight into selecting, planting, and maintaining native plants to create landscapes that are both resilient and visually appealing while promoting biodiversity.

Mr. Brown will break down the ins and outs of legal business structures—LLCs, S Corps, and Sole Proprietorships—helping you understand which path best fits your business goals.

4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.: From Jobsite to Highway | Safety First, Scott Baker

Mr. Baker will present on workplace safety with a focus on navigating local, state, and federal regulations. He’ll also cover essential traffic rules for safe trailer and equipment transport—helping ensure compliance and protect both people and property.
