The holidays are my favorite time of year no doubt but not everyone feels the same way. What many of us see as a fun, joyous, and family-oriented season others see it as being stressful, lonely, physically and mentally draining. During the holiday season, many Americans will gain between 1 and 5 pounds. Over time this weight gain can quickly add up.

The Healthy Homemade Holiday video series will share with you healthy recipes you can make for the holiday season to share with family and friends, or just enjoy yourself. The series will begin in November with a weekly recipe video, a fun physical activity, and even a holiday craft. The series will give you tips on planning, shopping, and fixing holiday meals, food safety tips with holiday cooking and baking, and even some fun physical activity and craft ideas.

Throughout the series, you will meet several staff members of N.C. Cooperative Extension of Nash and Edgecombe Counties as they share with us some of their most favorite holiday memories and traditions. The series will be posted on the N.C. Cooperative Extension of Nash and Edgecombe Counties’ web pages, on both counties’ social media pages, and on the Nash & Edgecombe Family & Consumer Sciences YouTube channel.
