Each of these meetings will offer foresters
one hour of educational SAF credit.

The NC State University Wood Products Extension Department is hosting an outreach event for the forest and wood products industry in nine counties of Eastern North Carolina on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. This event will take place at the Nash County Agriculture Center in Nashville, NC, as part of the NC Statewide Forest and Wood Products Marketing Project.

This project is funded by the US Forest Service as part of their effort to support the forest and wood products industry from landowners to value added manufacturers and distributors. In 2020 we will be hosting a total of thirteen regional meetings in each of the NC Forest Service regions.

The goals of the project is to assist the industry to grow sales, profitability and employment through cooperative identifying problems and working together to find improvement of markets. The meetings offer a networking opportunity for our industry and the focus is to identify marketing problems and opportunities.

At the meeting the issues of the primary part of the industry from 10 to 11:30 a.m. where we will focus on the industry landowners, foresters, loggers, mills (chip, lumber, veneer) and firewood. From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. the focus will be on the secondary industry that includes cabinets, furniture, millwork, plywood, and distribution.
