Nash and Edgecombe County Cooperative Extension offers Safe Plates for all those who work in the food service industry. The course helps food establishments meet the requirement of having at least one supervisor certified as a food protection manager, a mandate of the NC Food Code.

There will be instruction in personal hygiene, purchasing from reputable suppliers, eliminating cross-contamination, and correct temperatures for storing, preparing, and holding foods. North Carolina food service managers seeking Certified Food Safety Manager certification in order to meet the NC Food Code requirement component of the food establishment’s inspection can register for the upcoming class.

NC Safe Plates participants who pass the end of course ANSI Exam will receive a certificate required for inspections.
